Bättelmatthorn became Einigs Alichji

On the trail of Segantini

Dominic’s group of four did not allow themselves to be influenced by the weather forecast and met in Visp at 06 15. We drove higher and higher by car up to the Oberi Fäsilalpu at 2206 m. Now we continued on foot, higher and higher up to 2831 m. Two hours later we were on the summit of Niwen, called Einigs Alichji. Dominic managed to hold off the rain until we reached the cross.

Gusts of wind couldn’t throw us off balance on the ridge. A 360° panoramic view honored our efforts!

On the descent, we scurried from rocky outcrop to rocky outcrop to protect ourselves from the rain. During the second shower we still had to unpack our tippets. A little later, we were presented with Segantini paintings. Afterwards, we rested for a while in a natural castle. We rounded off this exciting tour with a delicious meal in the Trächu hut.
